The congress will highlight the importance of reach pre-registration for non-eu exporters of chemicals to the eu and its business impacts on the eu import supply chain, bringing together the non-eu manufacturers and industry associations on one side and the eu actors from authorities and industry on the other. In addition, several service providers present their reach solutions to the attendees.
The congress will provide the participants a chance to listen to presentations from experts from the eu Chemicals Agency, as well as from companies well-advanced in their preparations for the pre/registration. Issues addressed will cover, among other things, substance identifi cation, substance information exchange forums, communications within the supply chain, and importers’ obligations under reach. The Executive Director of echa, will be the keynote speaker at hiccs 2008.
Finally, representatives of the non-eu industry associations will have the opportunity to get together in a Roundtable discussion in order to present their respective approaches when dealing with the new requirements, and to fi nalise their strategies for supporting their member companies through the upcoming registration process.
